Those of you who keep up with me on Facebook, etc. know that I religiously visit a particular coffee shop in downtown Greenville on Thursday mornings. I thought it might be fun for me to occasionally (maybe regularly?) update my blog from "Spill the Beans" on the banks of the Reedy River (which is flowing heavily today due to all the rain we've recently had.)
Ironically, though, I'm going to comment about something that happened at another coffee shop all the way across town the other day. It was one of those little things that God used to express love to me.
I had several meetings that day, one of which I was nervous about. (Everything turned out okay but I digress.) Between two appointments, I had to "kill time" because it was impractical to drive all the way home. So I stopped at Atlanta Bread Co. to have a cup of tea. They gave me a typical cardboard cup and when I went to the counter, the attendant asked me if I wanted a tea cup instead. I believe she must be from England. I said "yes" and she gave me my tea in a beautiful ivory cup on a saucer with a doily and a small tea spoon. Now, those of you close to me know I'm not really a "girly girl", but something about being offered a tea cup was very special to me. It took an otherwise everyday thing and made it,well, more cultured and beautiful. It was like God saying, "let's make this moment extra special, shall we?"
How are you going to make someone's day extra special today? You never know what small thing will make a difference so they can experience God's love through you.
