Today, I am thankful for quality people. There's a store here in town that Keith occasionally visits for backpacking equipment and advice. I sat outside in the truck today, reading, while he went in. It was impressive how many people went in and out of there, considering the store is a specialty place not exactly on a main road. For years now, the owner has treated his customers with consistent respect, not selling them anything they don't need. He encouraged Keith's recent efforts to pack a light bag--a project he has spent time on doing research, etc. Keith bought a few small things from him, but nothing major. It doesn't seem to matter though. No matter how much Keith buys or doesn't Jonathan always treats him with kindness, respect, and integrity. Maybe that's why there's a steady stream of customers at Appalacian Outfitters, Greenville.
